But in your hearts set Christ apart [as holy—acknowledging Him, giving Him first place in your lives] as Lord. Always be ready to give a [logical] defense to anyone who asks you to account for the hope and confident assurance [elicited by faith] that is within you, yet [do it] with gentleness and respect.

Is Jesus Christ your Lord and Personal Saviour? If yes, praise God. If not, this is a great opportunity to connect with Jesus Christ by believing in your heart and confessing with your mouth that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Saviour.
After this life transformation decision you have obtained eternal life in Christ Jesus and therefore required to grow in the Faith by studying the Word of God, fellowshipping with the brethren and praying.
This now positions you to be able to confidently defend your Faith in Christ Jesus and speak to others to do likewise.
May the power and presence of God be with us all the days of our lives so that we can confidently defend our Faith in Christ Jesus. May we be empowered to declare the goodness of the Lord to the world in Jesus Mighty name. Amen
