Ephesians 6:14-15 AMP
[14] So stand firm and hold your ground, having tightened the wide band of truth (personal integrity, moral courage) around your waist and having put on the breastplate of righteousness (an upright heart), [15] and having strapped on your feet the gospel of peace in preparation [to face the enemy with firm-footed stability and the readiness produced by the good news].
Praise be to God for this beautiful day and the opportunity to rejoice and celebrate His goodness.
Today’s scripture speaks specifically about putting on three of the armours of God. The belt or waistband of Truth, the Breastplate of Righteousness and the Shoes of Peace.
The belt or waistband of Truth requires of us as children of God to always walk in the truth, our yes should be yes and not a partial yes. Jesus Christ is the truth and life so we cannot lovers of Jesus Christ and not operate in truth. We must be seen as people of integrity, we can always be trusted by our words.
The Breastplate of Righteousness requires the children of God to live upright lives to the glory of God. The child of God must have an upright heart and must be in right standing with the Lord at all times.
The third armour of today is the shoes of Peace which requires that we carry the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world. We strap it on our feet to direct our paths to share the gospel of Jesus Christ to all we encounter.
May the Lord grant us the grace to firmly clothe ourselves with the Belt of Truth, Breastplate of Righteousness and Shoes of Peace at all times to stand firm as Children of God ready for battle and to glorify our God in Jesus Mighty name. Amen
