Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth

“Blessed [inwardly peaceful, spiritually secure, worthy of respect] are the gentle [the kind-hearted, the sweet-spirited, the self-controlled], for they will inherit the earth.
Matthew 5:5 AMP

Praise and honour be unto God for this beautiful day and the opportunity to rejoice and be glad in it.

We continue with Jesus’ teaching dubbed the “Be Attitudes ” and today we consider meekness as the qualification to inherit the earth.

Blessed are the meek, some have mistakenly associated meekness with weakness. This is certainly not the case. As we can see from the Amplified version meekness connotes gentleness, self controlled, inner strength and sweet spirited.

It therefore takes a lot of discipline to be meek and it is no surprising that the reward is to inherit the earth, that enjoy God’s manifold blessings of His footstool. Meekness is also borne out of maturity in the things of the Spirit.

May the Lord help us to be gentle, sweet spirited, kind hearted and self controlled so that we can access His manifold blessings of inheriting the earth especially the peace of God. Amen

Jesus offered reverent prayers to God while on earth- an example for us

‭‭Hebrews 5:7 AMP‬‬
[7] In the days of His earthly life, Jesus offered up both [specific] petitions and [urgent] supplications [for that which He needed] with fervent crying and tears to the One who was [always] able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His reverent submission toward God [His sinlessness and His unfailing determination to do the Father’s will].

Glory and honour be unto God for this beautiful day and the opportunity to rejoice and be glad in it.

Thanks be to God for His infallible Word. Today’s scripture brings out the fact that when Jesus Christ was on earth He was fully human and suffered a lot of things we also suffer today. In the midst of all that He lifted up petitions and supplications to God His Father for help.

In the last days when His death was imminent , He prayed to God to let this cup pass Him by if possible. God the Father answered His Son Jesus Christ when He lifted up few loaves of bread and fish and they were multiplied.

Today Jesus is seated in Heaven with God the Father and interceding for us. We should therefore not relent in lifting up our prayers and supplication to God through Jesus Christ.

May we never cease to call upon the name of the Lord at all times. May Jesus’ earthly example of petitions to the Most High encourage us to always call on the name of the Lord for help. Glory be to God, Amen.

For the Knowledge and glory of the Lord shall fill the earth

“But [the time is coming when] the earth shall be filled With the knowledge of the glory of the Lord , As the waters cover the sea.
HABAKKUK 2:14 AMP

Praise be to God that He has given unto us a brand new day, we will rejoice and be glad in it.

Are we are getting ready for the second coming of the Lord? Have we made the Lord our personal Saviour? Is He ruling in our lives? Yes it is important to live completely for Christ as we approach the day when His knowledge and glory will fill the entire earth.

What will you do that day if you do not have a relationship with the Lord? You may be a stranger when the children of God are enjoying and experiencing the glory of God.

Father Lord, May our relationship with you be deepened as we position ourselves to dwell in a land filled with your knowledge and glory. May your knowledge and glory fill us now in Jesus Mighty name. Amen.
