God hears Us when we ask according to His Will

This is the [remarkable degree of] confidence which we [as believers are entitled to] have before Him: that if we ask anything according to His will, [that is, consistent with His plan and purpose] He hears us.
1 JOHN 5:14 AMP

Glory and honour be unto God for this beautiful day, May the joy and peace of God abide with us throughout this day.

God is our ever present help in time of need!(Psalms 46:1). We go to Him because His Word says we should call on Him so He can answer and show us great truths we don’t know about!( Jeremiah 33:3).

Today’s scripture re-affirms the position that once we call on God, He hears us. That is the confidence we need to develop or have in Him. Hebrews 4:16 says we should come boldly before God so that we can receive Mercy and grace in time of need to help us.

God therefore hears us if we ask according to His plans and purposes for us, if we do not hear from God in respect of our request we should be calm and wait, our prayer should be Father if it is your will, let it come to pass. It is important that we remain in God’s perfect plan for us.

May the Lord hear us as we come to Him and may we receive answers to our prayers that are consistent with His plans and purposes for us. Remain blessed greatly. Amen.

Quick to hear, Slow to speak and Slow to anger

Understand this, my beloved brothers and sisters. Let everyone be quick to hear [be a careful, thoughtful listener], slow to speak [a speaker of carefully chosen words and], slow to anger [patient, reflective, forgiving];
JAMES 1:19 AMP

Praise and honour be to God for the blessings of a brand new day and the opportunity to rejoice and be glad in it. Thank you Jesus!

Thank God for His Word today, Apostle James is sharing some practical words with us. Be quick to hear requires us to show keen interest in people when they are speaking so we can receive and understand what they are saying. Some have said, we were given 2 ears so we can listen and hear well and quickly! In order to deepen our understanding before speaking we can start by asking questions before making our point.

Likewise we have just one mouth so we need to properly process what we say, in that manner, we do not rush to speak. The scripture says that we should be slow to speak. We should be speakers of carefully chosen words, words that edify our hearers. Hallelujah!

Be slow to anger. This requires us to be patient in all situations, being reflective of the fact that Christ died to forgive us so we can forgive others too. We need to consciously make an effort to overcome this. The Lord is our help.

May Jehovah help us to live Christlike lives in Jesus Mighty name. May we be quick to hear, slow to speak and be slow to anger. May our lifestyles be the gospel that others read and draw closer to the Lord. Amen.
