The God of Righteousness, Justice and Goodness

Psalm 33:5 (NKJV)
“He loves righteousness and justice; The earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.”

Glory and honour be unto God for this beautiful day and the opportunity to rejoice and be glad in it!

Today’s scripture comes from a psalm that praises the Lord for His unmatched sovereignty. Indeed, none can be compared to our God. Psalm 33 tells of the marvelous things God has skillfully crafted to form this world. His handiwork surrounds us.

Today, let us lift up our voices and give thanks to God. Let us adore Him for His goodness towards mankind. His lovingkindness knows no bounds!

Let us also remember that our God is a just God who loves righteousness. As His children, we are called to live righteously and to pursue justice in all our ways.

May our mouths be filled with praise and adoration for the Lord who has filled the earth with His goodness. And may we model after Him in righteousness and justice, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.

Do good, seek justice, resist the oppressor and plead the cause of the vulnerable

“Learn to do good; Seek justice, Rebuke the oppressor; Defend the fatherless, Plead for the widow.”

Through the Prophet Isaiah, God touches on profound responsibilities that are still incredibly relevant today. We live in a world where it’s easy to become consumed with our own needs and desires. But the Word of God calls us to learn to do good, to seek justice, resist oppression and to plead the cause of the vulnerable.

As followers of Christ, our faith must go beyond personal devotion, it must reflect God’s love in action. The justice and compassion He desires are not optional; they are integral to our walk with Him.

The love of God, shown most fully in Jesus Christ’s sacrificial death for all, compels us to care for the fatherless and the widow, those closest to God’s own heart. God is described as a Father to the fatherless and a Defender of widows (Psalm 68:5), and as His children, we are called to mirror that care and compassion in our own lives.

We are also called to rebuke the oppressor, to stand against injustice, to challenge systems and individuals who exploit or abuse others, and to be bold in defending what is right. Silence in the face of oppression is not neutral; it contradicts the justice God demands.

May the Lord empower us to live according to His Word. May we be vessels of His justice and love—defending the weak, standing up for what is right, and doing good in all circumstances. May we never overlook the needs of the fatherless and the widows, but always extend the hand of Christ to them.

The Justice and Righteousness of God must flow ceaselessly

But let justice run down like waters And righteousness like an ever-flowing stream [flowing abundantly].
Amos 5:24 AMP

Praise God for this beautiful day and the opportunity to rejoice and be glad in it. Hallelujah!

In this chapter the Prophet Amos recounted the unpleasant things that people of God had engaged in and sought to admonish them. They had gone into idol worship and all sorts of things and were now looking forward to the day of the Lord.

The day of the Lord was going to be darkness to them because their hearts and lifestyles were far away from the Lord. They led sinful lives and tried to cover it with religious rituals and traditions.

This may be happening in different forms today where we engage in all sorts of things contrary to the Word of God but dress beautifully every Sunday and go to church, may the Lord help us!

The Lord’s justice and Righteousness as indicated in today’s scripture will continue to flow and that should be a good reminder to us that we shall be accountable for the lives we live.

May our lives be lived for the Lord so that we do not fall short of the Lord’s justice and righteousness. May His grace be sufficient for us in this journey till the Lord’s coming in Jesus Mighty name.
