Jesus offered reverent prayers to God while on earth- an example for us

‭‭Hebrews 5:7 AMP‬‬
[7] In the days of His earthly life, Jesus offered up both [specific] petitions and [urgent] supplications [for that which He needed] with fervent crying and tears to the One who was [always] able to save Him from death, and He was heard because of His reverent submission toward God [His sinlessness and His unfailing determination to do the Father’s will].

Glory and honour be unto God for this beautiful day and the opportunity to rejoice and be glad in it.

Thanks be to God for His infallible Word. Today’s scripture brings out the fact that when Jesus Christ was on earth He was fully human and suffered a lot of things we also suffer today. In the midst of all that He lifted up petitions and supplications to God His Father for help.

In the last days when His death was imminent , He prayed to God to let this cup pass Him by if possible. God the Father answered His Son Jesus Christ when He lifted up few loaves of bread and fish and they were multiplied.

Today Jesus is seated in Heaven with God the Father and interceding for us. We should therefore not relent in lifting up our prayers and supplication to God through Jesus Christ.

May we never cease to call upon the name of the Lord at all times. May Jesus’ earthly example of petitions to the Most High encourage us to always call on the name of the Lord for help. Glory be to God, Amen.

Prayer for Boldness to Preach the Gospel

And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
Acts 4:31

Praise and glory be to God for this beautiful day and the opportunity to rejoice and be glad in it.

Thanks be to God for the gift of Jesus Christ. In today’s scripture we read the exploits of the Apostles Peter and John after Jesus had ascended to heaven. They stood their grounds and did not crumble to the Council of Elders who wanted to suppress them.

From today’s scripture 3 things stand out; they assembled together, they prayed together, and they shared the Word of God together with boldness. A great lesson to learn.

Peter and John had been put to jail by the Elders and warned not to teach in the name of Jesus Christ again but they continued to speak about what they had seen Jesus Christ do during His time with them.

As Peter and John prayed together with the brethren the place they gathered got shaken and the people filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak the Word of God with boldness.

Thank you Lord Jesus, may we constantly gather in your name to pray. May the Holy Spirit visit our gatherings and empower us to speak forth your word with boldness in Jesus Mighty name. Amen.

Take Heed, watch and pray

Mark 13:33 NKJV
[33] Take heed, watch and pray; for you do not know when the time is.

Praise and glory be to God for this beautiful day and the opportunity to rejoice and be glad in it.

Jesus Christ continues His teachings in parables. Today’s scripture talks about Jesus’ admonition to all of us to be on our guard so that we don’t miss Heaven.

Take heed, watch and pray is a call for us to be alert spiritually for the return of the Lord. It calls for consistency in our walk with the Lord, not to go weary and take a “break” in our relationship with the Lord. The example of the 5 foolish virgins is not too far away, let us remain spiritually alert.

May the Lord help us to live completely for Christ at all times as we do not know the day and the hour that the Lord shall return for His children. May sufficient grace abound towards us in Jesus Mighty name. Amen

Love your enemies and pray for them

But I say to you, love [that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for] your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,
MATTHEW 5:44 AMP

Hallelujah to the King of Kings for this beautiful day and the opportunity to rejoice and be glad in it.

This scripture is part of the first teachings that Jesus Christ did. A very tough directive given by Jesus Christ! Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.

This is certainly a difficult thing to do by our own strength, it is the grace of God that can enable us to love our enemies and pray for those who seek our downfall.

May sufficient grace abound towards us such that we can live to love those who seek our destruction, May the Holy Spirit energize us. May the Lord help us to pray for our persecutors and fulfil all righteousness in Jesus Mighty name. Amen.

Love Your Enemies & pray for those who hate you

“But I say to you who hear [Me and pay attention to My words]: Love [that is, unselfishly seek the best or higher good for] your enemies, [make it a practice to] do good to those who hate you, bless and show kindness to those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
LUKE 6:27‭-‬28 AMP

Praise God for the blessings of a brand new day, May the joy of the Lord be our portion in Jesus Mighty name.

This is a commandment by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, love your enemies and do good to those who hate you.

This is following the unconditional love that Jesus exhibited here on earth, it is not easy to love your enemies, do good to those who hate you and show kindness to those who curse you. It is only with the help of the Holy Spirit that we can be energised to do this.

Jesus Christ set the example for us to follow so we should strive to pray for those who curse us and love them. The amplified version says we should make it a practice.

May God grant us great grace in multiples to be able to love and pray for our enemies. May this become a practice. God bless us and help us to accomplish His purposes in Jesus Mighty name. Amen.

Pray at all times in the Spirit with all types of Prayer

With all prayer and petition pray [with specific requests] at all times [on every occasion and in every season] in the Spirit, and with this in view, stay alert with all perseverance and petition [interceding in prayer] for all God’s people.
Ephesians 6:18 AMP

Glory and honour be to God for this beautiful day and the opportunity to rejoice and be glad in it. Hallelujah!

In the past few days we have looked at the various armour of God we need for our spiritual battle. Today we wrap up by looking at the importance of Prayer in the life of a believer.

The Bible requires us to pray without ceasing! Today’s scripture charges us to pray all kinds of Prayer at all times in the Spirit. Praying at all times calls for us being intentional about making quick brief prayers throughout your day.

We could make quick prayers without having to isolate ourselves from people and work. Once we make prayer our way of life, we can whisper to the Lord in the course of our daily activities.

This same chapter tells us to arm ourselves ready for spiritual battle, clothing ourselves from our head (helmet of salvation) to our feet(shoes of peace). That means that we should always be ready to battle the enemy in whatever ways he comes.

Our prayers must include intercession, thanksgiving and petitions for all of God’s children.

May we always be found standing in the gap praying all kinds of Prayer for God’s people. May the God of Jacob answer us from Zion at all times in Jesus Mighty name. Amen.
