Be Ready to Serve Just as Jesus Christ Did

Matthew 20:28 (AMP)
“Just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many [paying the price to set them free from the penalty of sin].”

Glory and honour be unto the Most High God! This is the day that the Lord has made, so let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Today’s scripture is the very words of Jesus, a direct charge to every follower of Christ. Our Lord, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, came down to earth and chose to live a humble life. He came not to be served, but to serve, and ultimately to lay down His life for us all. He became a servant to all, and in doing so, gave us the highest example of true greatness.

The key to greatness is service.
As followers of Christ, we are to strive to serve faithfully wherever we find ourselves, especially in the house of the Lord. The Son of God came to serve and gave His life as a ransom; we, too, must be ready to roll up our sleeves and serve with diligence and joy.

Let us not wait to be called upon, let us seek out opportunities to serve the Master and advance His Kingdom. Service may require sacrifice, but in that sacrifice is the greatest reward.

Let us get ready to pay the price in service to the Lord. Let’s serve the Lord with joy and gladness and receive the blessing that comes with obedience and humility.

May we be found as worthy and faithful servants wherever God places us. May we carry the mantle of sacrificial service and follow Christ’s example with unwavering devotion. May the Lord be our help, in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.

Be ready for the Service of the Lord with Humility

So if I, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you ought to wash one another’s feet as well.
JOHN 13:14 AMP

Thanks be to God for this beautiful day which is the Holy Thursday, let us celebrate the goodness of the Lord today with rejoicing and gladness.

Thank God for giving us Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour and also a perfect example. The Son of God came down to earth to serve us and died a lowly death so that we might have life eternal.

Jesus’ act of washing their feet also symbolized that the disciples had a part of Him or have been identified with Him.(John 13:6-8)

He washed the feet of the disciples in preparing them for the ministry work ahead of them and more so teaching them humility that is required to make them successful in the work ahead.

Jesus said in the scripture that now that He has washed their feet, they should go and do likewise, it is now our turn to also go out there and serve the Lord with humility. If the Son of God humbled Himself and served, you and I should learn from this great example and go do likewise.

One way in which we can serve is to go out and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to the world so that the lost will come to Jesus Christ for salvation.

May we receive the Grace to serve tirelessly with humility throughout our lives till Jesus’ coming. May we be available instruments in His hand for greater service. Help us Lord. Amen.

Be Ready to serve just as Jesus Christ did

just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many [paying the price to set them free from the penalty of sin].”
MATTHEW 20:28 AMP

Glory and honour be unto the Most High God. This is the day that the Lord has made so let’s rejoice and be glad in it.

Today’s scripture is Jesus speaking, which is a charge for any follower of Christ to observe. He set an example for us to emulate. The King of Kings and Lord of Lords came down to earth to live a very humble life and die for us so we may have eternal life. He became a servant to ALL.

The key to greatness is service! We should all therefore strive to serve in whatever area we find ourselves especially in the house of the Lord.

The Son of God came to serve and lay down His life as a ransom, we are all to therefore roll up our sleeves and be ready to serve in whatever capacity we are called upon. In fact we should not even wait to be called upon but to fish out what we can do for the Master to promote His Kingdom.

Get ready to pay the price in the service of the Lord. Let’s serve the Lord with joy and gladness and receive the blessing of the Lord.

May we be worthy servants wherever we find ourselves here on earth. May we catch the mantle of sacrificial service and replicate Christ Jesus ‘ example. May the Lord be our help in Jesus Mighty name. Amen
